Heart, Joan Jett & the Blackhearts, Cheap Trick - July 31, 2016 - BB&T Pavilion, Camden, NJ

After seeing a three band bill with all three acts being potential headliners in Jane's Addiction, Dinosaur Jr, and Living Colour, three recently inducted Rock and Roll Hall of Fame acts combined to put on a spectacle in Camden, NJ. Heart was inducted in 2013, Joan Jett & the Blackhearts in 2015, and Cheap Trick in 2016. Anyone could see or hear why they are in the hall of fame as each set was full of hits that carried them to Cleveland. The performances were big, loud, and full of energy.

It was my second time seeing Joan Jett, who opened for The Who in 2015, and my third time seeing Cheap Trick, who headlined in 2015 at the Keswick Theater and played after a Baltimore Orioles baseball game for my first concert in 2004. Although both Joan Jett and Cheap Trick were better the previous times I saw them, they are two of rock and roll's most dependable acts. You know what you are going to get when you see them live; hard rocking music, big hits, great entertainment, and impeccable energy from start to finish.

Although I am not the biggest Heart fan, it was great to see them live and perform some of the biggest songs in rock. They started off strong with "Wild Child" and "Magic Man" but turned it down with some of their 80s power ballads. This pleased some of the crowd but most of them wanted to rock. Lead singer Ann Wilson took note of this as Heart progressed into "Kick It Out." The set was capped off with back to back anthems "Crazy On You" and "Barracuda." For the encore, Heart rolled through covers of the Led Zeppelin classics "Immigrant Song" and "Stairway to Heaven."

All of the sets were short but sweet and carried the crowd home on a high.
