Foo Fighters, Social Distortion, The Joy Formidable - November 10, 2011 - Wachovia Center, Philadelphia, PA

Foo Fighters Wasting Light tour sticker.
The Joy Formidable opened but I didn't see them because I thought they were Florence and the Machine. Before the concert, I did some research on Florence instead of The Joy Formidable and decided that I didn't want to see Florence although they weren't playing. I would later see The Joy Formidable in 2013 headlining at the Union Transfer. Social Distortion was amazing and have always been underrated. I would also see them a few years later headlining and promoting the 25th anniversary of the album Social Distortion at Festival Pier. Foo Fighters never disappoint and were promoting the Wasting Light album. During the show, Dave Grohl promised that the Foo Fighters would come back and play a show at the Electric Factory but never followed up. The highlight of the show was when Bob Mould come out to play with the band for Dear Rosemary (which he sang backup vocals on for the album) and the cover of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers' Breakdown. Mould was also the DJ for the tour playing music in between sets. Yet another band I would see in the future, Bob Mould at the TLA. Foo Fighters known for playing covers, had a great performances of Pink Floyd's In the Flesh?, The Beatles' Blackbird, and Tom Petty's Breakdown. Grohl did a great job playing acoustic solos during the encore and to open the setlist with those first five songs is crazy! The crowd knew it too as they cheering so loud after the those songs that Grohl couldn't get a word in as he tried to talk to the crowd. The caliber of the three acts couldn't be matched and treated the crowd to a rock fest for 4+ hours. One of the best concerts I've been to!
